The effects of war on life at home
Each person who lived during the civil War era was affected in some way or
form by the war. The whole idea behind building this site is to bring a bit
of realism to the people of that time. It is recommended that you get to know
the individuals personally through their pages, rather than using this resource.
However, because there is never enough time - especially in school - to do
everything one would like, this page has been added to exemplify a few entries
which directly relate to conditions on the home front. Please remember - these
references will not give you the whole picture of the individual's life, they
merely touch the surface of the stories.
