Gary Leopold
as
Private James A. Hopkins

I am a native of Cincinnati, Ohio and attended the University of Cincinnati, earning a BA in American History in 1973. I completed a Master's degree in American History at UC the following year, before entering active duty as a Second Lieutenant in the Regular Army.

Over the next twenty years, I served in a variety of armor and military intelligence assignments both in the United States and overseas, to include seven years in Germany, three years at the Pentagon, and extended temporary assignments in both the Netherlands and Morocco. I also received specialized training as a military historian at West Point while serving as an ROTC instructor.

Upon retirement in 1994, I went back to school, completed certification as a teacher in Alabama, and now teach 7th and 8th Grade Social Studies at the Academy for Academics and Art, Huntsville, Alabama.
