ireceived aleter from father on the7 of this month  iwas Sory to hear that
my Sister was dead  iam well and was glad to hear that the rest of them was
well  anny could not have bin long Sick before She dide

we have cold wether now  night before last there was a midling deep Snow
fel  my boots come intime or icould not have going out for my shose was all
loos along the Sides but it was my own folt that they was So poor for the
Captain had got me Shoes Six weeks ago and iwould not take them for if
idont draw the amount of cloathin from the governent iwill git paid for
them  we ar aloud  about thirty five dolars worth of cloathing for the nine
month and idont think iwill need more then twenty five dolars worth  

we will git paid off next week if we git hour dis cript list  they war Sent 
to us the Seckond time and they got lost the both times  the orderly Sargent
Sent the third time after them  if we dont git them till the paymaster
cames around we will not git paid then  it will go Six month  and maby
Seven  if igit paid i will git for thre month iexspect  iSent money to

igot a box on the 4 of this month wat was Sent and all the things 
was all wright except that old iron pot leaked alitle around the 
botom and Some of them Snits  Some of them run down to the boots  they
taste alitle of the oil  the rest of the things was all nice  them
Stockings they might have kept at home for ihave four pair with out them
ihave enoughof clothe to last me my time out now  imay want a new pair of
pans yet them ican do unless iloose them agin  ihave to good woolen Shirts
that the govrment give me and thre wite ones and that one from home make

ido not think iwill hav to goto the regement before next Spring for
iam in the hospittle as nurs but the tent that iamin dont need much nursing
for they can all walk around  the most that isto do is git the wood for to
Stoves and then ther is five or six to gitit
